What are your top 3 tips for exercising outside and how do these change according to the weather?

Dress appropriately, the worst thing is wearing too little on a cold ride, or over dressing for that long run. Make sure you wear sun protection, you can still get burnt if its cloudy! People seem to think the clouds block out the sun, they don’t! Spray it on a high factor and you’re set for the day.Finally, hydrate. Always have a bottle of water to hand, and keep sipping throughout the day. If you’re feel a little lethargic, pop an electrolyte tab into your bottle, works a treat.

What are your top 3 tips for exercising outside and how do these change according to the weather?

Nothing beats training outdoors in the fresh air. I absolutely love the summer when you can get off your turbo or treadmill and just run or cycle for miles through the beautiful countryside. 

Firstly make sure that you cover yourself from head to toe in sun cream. Remember you can still burn, even when it's overcast! On top of the negative effects to your skin, sunburn also equals dehydration which will have a negative effect on your performance.

What are your top 3 tips for exercising outside and how do these change according to the weather?

Preparation, especially when cycling. Looking at the weather and wrapping up to battle the harsh Yorkshire winters or putting my P20 Continuous Spray on if I’m out in the rays.
