Stay Sun Safe this Summer
The peak of summer is well on the way despite a rainy June, but whether you're escaping to warmer climes or hoping for a warm English summer it's important to keep sun safety in mind. From relaxing on the beach to enjoying a game of rounders in the park- keep yourself and your family well protected whenever and wherever the sun is shining.
It is particularly important to fully protect yourself against the sun's rays at the start of summer, as this is usually the first time your skin will have been exposed to the sunshine for a while. Luckily, a few simple steps are all it takes to protect your skin against the sun's harmful UV rays.
Firstly, cover up well to decrease the amount of skin exposed to the sun - a hat, t-shirt and sunglasses will all help to keep you protected. You should also try to avoid being in direct sunlight when the sun is at its strongest - between 11am and 3pm. If you are planning to be outdoors for much of the day, try to ensure you take regular breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.
Lastly, and most importantly, apply P20 generously and evenly whenever your skin will be exposed to the sunshine. Our unique formula provides coverage for up to 10 hours, however, should you prefer, there's no harm in re-applying to ensure maximum protection. Always allow 15 minutes before going into the sunshine or swimming to give your skin ample time to absorb P20 and for the formula to become active. P20 is also very water resistant, so a refreshing swim in the pool or sea shouldn't compromise your protection. However do ensure that when drying off after a dip you pat yourself dry rather than rubbing the skin vigorously with a towel, as this may remove P20. Also, keep in mind that different skin types and particularly children, need different protection levels; take a look at our simple skin type guidelines here.
So, whether you're looking forward to relaxing on a Mediterranean beach or manning the BBQ on a sunny British bank holiday (fingers crossed!), ensure maximum protection and sun enjoyment by following our simple steps.
