FAQ

Apply 15 minutes before going out into the sun or swimming, to allow a protective film to form on the skin.

Apply generously and evenly, paying particular attention to the vulnerable parts of the body such as nose, ears, scalp, shoulders, chest and feet.

If you are using the spray pack, do not spray directly on to your face. Instead spray into your hands, and then apply to the face, avoiding the sensitive eye area. Read the in-pack leaflet carefully before use.

It depends on your skin type, the season, where in the world you are and the time of day. People with dark hair and dark skin can generally stay longer in the sun without burning than people with fair hair and skin.

In the hours between 11 am and 3 pm the concentration of burning UVB rays is at its highest; so if you go out in the sun at all, wear light clothes eg a t-shirt, a hat and sunscreen.

Bear in mind that snow, water and sand reflect the sun, increasing the amount of rays you are exposed to. Check your skin type here.

Yes, all products in the P20 range contain both UVA and UVB filters and so they give you a long-lasting, broad spectrum photostable UV protection.

Yes, P20 is safe for children. All its ingredients have been approved as cosmetic ingredients and contain no added fragrance, colourants, or added preservatives.

However it is still important to remember the general sun advice that babies and young children should not be exposed to direct sun light.

There is no need to reapply P20 after swimming unless you have towel-dried vigorously. P20 has been categorised as "Very Water Resistant" - the highest classification available - and offers superior protection even after prolonged immersion in water.

P20 is still effective after a shower providing you have not used soap, a loofah or towel-dried vigorously.

Yes. Just allow 15 minutes after applying then go ahead with your normal make-up routine.

The average adult needs to apply 30-40mls of product during each application to ensure sufficient coverage and effective protection. Parts of the body often forgotten are the back of the neck, the front of the upper part of the chest and the backs of the legs.

Always apply before sun exposure to ensure protection from the start. Be sure to use enough product to provide a visible layer before rubbing in, then repeat.

Like many other sun protection products, P20 may stain fabrics. This is due to the nature of the UV filters used to provide a high level of protection. To help prevent this happening, wash your hands thoroughly with soap after application and avoid contact with fabrics e.g. clothing, towels etc. before the sun protection product is fully dried (we recommend waiting a full 15 minutes).

If staining does occur, we have found that they can be removed by following these washing instructions and treating with a commercial stain remover, with the best results seen if applied on the 1st wash:

We recommend De-Solv-it® Universal Stain Remover & Pre-Wash Spray, following the instructions for use and important advice carefully.

o   Stains should be dealt with as soon as possible after they occur.

o   Always test De-Solv-it® Universal Stain Remover & Pre-Wash Spray on a small area on the item first to check for colourfastness and compatibility.

o   Follow De-Solv-it®'s instructions, then wash according to the manufacturer's instructions on the item(s) to be cleaned using the Pre-Wash cycle and highest recommended temperature.

o   Add slightly more detergent than you would normally use.

o   Repeat the treatment if necessary.

o   Do not use any form of chlorine or bleach, as it may turn the stains pink.
